Almond Sheet Cake


A scrumptious white sheet cake with a hint of almond flavor and a vanilla almond frosting. This fantastic cake is considered one of my all-time favorites! This recipe is almost equal to the chocolate one–I simply disregarded the cocoa and changed the vanilla extract with almond extract. The end result is the maximum first-rate sheet cake! The cake may be very tender and wet cake with a hint of almond. i really like the addition of fruit on top too, for a a laugh and delightful twist. This cake is perfect for parties, because it feeds loads of people and it’s really easy to transport. you may even make it an afternoon or  in advance of time–simply store it in the fridge. MY favourite almond cake is more moist and scrumptious, with a touch of almond flavor and a vanilla almond frosting, with sparkling berries.


  • 1 cup water

  • 1 cup salted butter

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 2 cups granulated sugar

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 cup sour cream , or substitute plain Greek yogurt

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons almond extract

For the Frosting:

  • 6 Tablespoons milk

  • 1/2 cup salted butter

  • 3 3/4 cups powdered sugar

  • 1 teaspoon almond extract

  • Berries, for topping, if desired


  1. Preheat oven to 350 ranges F and grease a jelly roll pan (round 13x18'' or 15x11 will work nicely).

  2. mix together the flour, sugar, baking soda and salt. 

  3. In another small bowl blend together the bitter cream, eggs and almond extract. 

  4. upload sour cream/egg aggregate to the flour combination and mix just until blended. 

  5. upload water and butter to a medium saucepan over medium warmness. bring mixture to a boil. 

  6. as soon as the mixture is boiling, remove from warmness and add to the batter, mixing to mix.

  7. Pour batter into organized pan and clean with a spatula into an excellent layer. 

  8. Bake in preheated oven for 17-20 mins or till a toothpick inserted comes out smooth.

  9. while the cake is about five minutes faraway from being completed cooking, put together the frosting.

For the frosting:

  1. add milk and butter to a saucepan. bring combination to a boil.

  2. as soon as boiling, put off from warmth and stir in powdered sugar and almond extract. i like to conquer the combination with my  mixer to eliminate any lumps.

  3. Pour warm icing over heat cake. Use a spatula to gently spread it evenly over the cake. 

  4. pinnacle with fresh berries, if favored. allow cake to cool earlier than serving.
